Soundwave Festival is over for another year (so sad!), and this year I photographed both the Melbourne and Sydney legs of the festival. This year it was spread over two days, meaning that bands could play longer sets, and as a photographer it was alot easier to cover the insane amount of bands on the bill.
In two days I shot 37 bands over five different stages – it was sweaty, exhausting, but as always it was amazing.
My highlights to shoot were Marilyn Manson (there’s a fascination with his image that makes him so interesting to photograph), Steel Panther (these guys are irresistibly fun), Smashing Pumpkins, Fear Factory, Gerard Way, Faith No More, Incubus, and Of Mice And Men.
Here’s some of my favourite shots of both the music and the scenery, and you can view more over on my Flickr. All photos shot with my Nikon D800 or D7000, and a 70-200mm f2.8 or 14-24mm f2.8.
