St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is one of my favourite festivals to shoot every year – the music, the people and the atmosphere are always fantastic. Here’s some of my favourite shots from this year, and you can check out the rest on Flickr.
Another year, another Big Day Out in Melbourne. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best to start a summer festival, but it was a nice change from the 40 degree days we’ve had in previous years when I almost fainted from carrying too much camera gear! Highlights from the day for me were Arcade Fire, Bo Ningen, Deftones and Major Lazer. Unfortunately only two photographers were allowed to shoot Pearl Jam, so I had to get a sneaky shot from the crowd instead. You can view the full set photos on my Flickr.
For New Year’s Eve I photographed Falls Festival again for The Music Network for the third year in a row. I always have a great time there, the people are great, and the bands are even better. The Vans Warped Tour returned to Australia this month for the first time since 2002. Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the Melbourne leg of the tour at Birramung Marr, and you can view the complete gallery here.
It’s been one year since The Living End’s epic Retrospective Tour around Australia. The band played each of their six studio albums in full with seven shows in each state – except for Victoria, where the demand was so high in their hometown of Melbourne that they had to stay for eleven. The Corner Hotel has always been one of my favourite Melbourne venues, so I wasn’t going to miss the chance to go to nearly every show. To be able to watch one of my favourite bands at my favourite venue night after night was basically a dream come …
