Travel: Paris and London 2016

So I went to Europe last year on this really great holiday, and completely forgot to share my photos from the last part of the trip on here – Paris and London! I added a couple of days onto the end of my Germany trip to go back and visit these two cities (I was there in 2014), because I wanted to catch some of the things I missed the previous time – mainly the Catacombs in Paris (creepy underground skulls), and the Old Operating Theatre & Museum in London (creepy old medical stuff). You can also check out my shots …

Travel: Tokyo, Japan

I’ve saved the best for last with my recent Japan trip blogs – Tokyo! My friend and I spent six days there in April, staying in a couple of different districts (details at the end of the blog), and had such an amazing time. Based on what my friends and I did, I’ve put together a little list for everyone: TOP 5 THINGS TO DO IN TOKYO 1. Head to the second level of Starbucks in Shibuya, order a coffee, and sit at the window watching the crowds at the famous Shibuya crossing (and tourists almost getting hit by cars trying to …

Travel: Nagoya, Nara and Kyoto – Japan

During our visit to Japan in April, my friend and I knew we wanted to visit both Kyoto and Nara. It was cherry blossom season in Japan and we didn’t realise that everything would be booked out, so we ended up staying in Nagoya which was just under three hours from Tokyo on the Shinkansen. We arrived in Nagoya on a Tuesday afternoon, and used it as our base to do day trips to Kyoto and Nara from there over the next two days (it was just 90 minutes to Kyoto on the Shinkansen). We explored Nagoya in the short amount of …

Travel: 7 Days in London

If this is the first of my travel blogs from my recent trip to England that you’re reading, you’ve picked the right one! Back in September 2014 I took a three week holiday in England (and a couple of days in Paris) for the first time. London was obviously going to be the highlight, so I started the trip with seven days in London to explore, take photos, and see as much as humanly possible. I got sick as soon as I got there (probably from the 24 hours of travel) but I didn’t let it stop me – instead …

Travel: Bristol and Bath, England

After spending three days in Cornwall I took the train to Bristol where I stayed for two days to check out the city of Bristol and also Bath. I really enjoyed my time here, Bristol was an interesting city and quite different to London, with lots of great street art to photograph. Bath had so much history, and even though it wasn’t far from Bristol it was very different too. All photos shot with my Nikon D800 and either a Nikon 35mm f1.8 or 14-24mm f2.8. If you want to see more shots you can view them on my Flickr. I …

Travel: Cornwall, England

Continuing on with my England photos, I spent three days in Cornwall after staying in London for a week – it was so refreshing to take a break from the city and be surrounded by nature and so much green! All photos shot with my Nikon D800 and Nikon 35mm f1.8 lens. If you’d like to see more you can view them on my Flickr. Day One: I arrived in the afternoon after a six hour train ride from London, and took a long walk along the coast from Carbis Bay to St Ives. The weather was perfect, and the pathways between beaches …
