Highlights Of 2016

It’s been a busy year! I photographed alot less gigs this year than usual, but still managed to find time to follow two of my favourite bands on tour – The Living End in June, and Garbage in December. I was hoping to finally hit the milestone of having shot 1000 bands, but only made it to 967 (since I started shooting gigs in 2008) – so I guess 2017 will be the year. I tried to restrain myself from just filling this blog post with Garbage and The Living End, but here’s some of my favourite shots from this …

Veri Live: Snap Feature

I was recently contacted by Veri Live magazine to be ‘Snap’ featured photographer for their final print issue out this month. I was asked to submit ten music related images, with the only rules being that they must be in black and white and cannot be cropped. My copy arrived on Friday and I couldn’t be happier with the final product – it looks fantastic and and the packaging is really special. I would like to thank Zo for selecting me to be featured – I really admire her talent, hard work and dedication to Veri Live and live music photography. The …

Highlights Of 2014

2014 has been a pretty great year! I had the privilege of seeing a bunch of bands live that I never expected to – Veruca Salt, Nine Inch Nails, Courtney Love, and I shot some that I never thought I would get the opportunity to – Katy Perry, Placebo, John Mayer. I saw three of my top 10 favourite bands (Placebo, Foo Fighters and John Mayer), and best of all I followed Placebo on tour and was able to see them live four times in six days – more on that here. And throughout all that I also started a Pet …

Soundwave Festival Round One: Sydney 2014

This year I flew to Sydney to shoot Soundwave Festival for Metal Obsession, and it was pretty epic. I ended up shooting 28 bands on the day (almost double what I would shoot for other single day festivals). Thankfully because I knew I would be shooting the Melbourne leg, and this one I was shooting for a metal website, it made it a bit easier to plan my timetable. In other words, shoot as many heavy/metal bands on the bill that I could, and leave all the others for Melbourne. There were a few exceptions to this though such as …

Highlights Of 2013

I went to ALOT of great gigs this year, but here are some shots from some of my favourites. If you’d like to see more, you can view them on Flickr.

The Living End Retrospective Tour 2012

It’s been one year since The Living End’s epic Retrospective Tour around Australia. The band played each of their six studio albums in full with seven shows in each state – except for Victoria, where the demand was so high in their hometown of Melbourne that they had to stay for eleven. The Corner Hotel has always been one of my favourite Melbourne venues, so I wasn’t going to miss the chance to go to nearly every show. To be able to watch one of my favourite bands at my favourite venue night after night was basically a dream come …
